If you’re looking to splurge beyond candy or roses this Mother’s Day, (quickly approaching on May 14), snag one of these last-minute getaways. Ranging from a spa day to an Italian countryside getaway, we’ve compiled a list to fit various budgets and timeframes, but all of these offer good value for the money.

Los Angeles: Moms with younger kids will love the Orlando Hotel's American Girl Package, which is designed to delight everyone -- including your child's favorite doll. Kids will get a mini bed, plus a bathrobe and tiny slippers for their doll, plus photos on arrival, and a $50 gift card for the American Girl store. Prices for Mother's Day weekend start at $315 per night.

New York City: For some pampering in New York City, look no farther than New York Hilton Midtown. The hotel offers the perfect proximity to the MoMa, Rockefeller Center, and Central Park, with in-room spa packages to rest your feet from all that walking. From May 12-May 14, kids and moms can get 2-for-1 manicures, pedicures, and makeovers; prices start at $35 for two. Room rates start at $239 per night.

Scottsdale: Well & Being Spa at The Fairmont Scottsdale Princess is a great place for some Mother's Day pampering, whether you're staying overnight or just stopping in for a spa treatment. The property is offering a Mother's Day spa special for groups of three or more that lets you choose from a massage, facial, body treatments, and wraps, then rejuvenate with vegan and gluten-free fare afterwards. Sixty-minute spa services start at $169 and include lunch, a gift basket, and 20 percent off shopping. To stay over Mother's Day weekend, you'll find rooms for $249 per night.

Fort Lauderdale: The newly renovated Fort Lauderdale Marriott Harbor Beach Resort & Spa, set on South Florida's largest stretch of private beach, is offering a spa package for $180, where mom can indulge in a massage and facial. Post-treatment, guests can treat themselves to the saunas, eucalyptus steam rooms, and a private salt-water pool with underwater music in the hotel's 20,000-square-foot spa. For an additional $75 ($35 for kids), treat her to Mother's Day brunch buffet at Riva. The on-property restaurant is hosting a Mother's Day brunch that will include chilled seafood, a kids buffet, and bottomless mimosas. Oceanfront rooms start at $314 over Mother's Day weekend.

Costa Rica: Enjoy nature unfettered at Los Sueños Marriott Ocean & Golf Resort, set in a 1,100-acre rainforest. While you’re at it, treat yourself to some of Costa Rica’s best cuisine. The Marriott’s new restaurant, Hacienda Kitchen, highlights local recipes with due credit to the local chefs who created them -- often with inspiration from their mothers. Feast on specialties like Olla de Carne, a short rib broth with vegetables picked from the nearby Cartago fields. Rainforest-view rooms start at $244 per night over Mother's Day weekend.

Italy: The perfect mix of active and relaxed, this five-night package in Italy's Emilia Romagna region -- starting at $601 per person -- offers spa relaxation, urban treks, and a bike tour through winding valley roads. Hearty but wholesome local fare rounds out the week -- think fresh piadina (crisp flatbread and fossa cheese) -- a regional highlight. If you book quickly, you can pair this with flights for less than you  might imagine -- even for a last-minute trip. Fly Wednesday to Tuesday, May 10 to 16, and you'll find great fares on Turkish Airways to Emilia Romagna's hub city, Bologna. We found fares under $700 from New York City, under $800 from Chicago, and for about $1000 from many other U.S. cities.
