Lima’s reputation as a food city is well established. There are three Lima restaurants on the 2016 The World’s 50 Best Restaurants list, and the city holds its own on Latin America’s 50 Best Restaurants as well. But where can you stay after you've eaten in this top gastronomic city? These three boutique hotels deliver value, comfort, and style in Lima's most compelling neighborhoods. Here are three hotels to ensure you sleep in style after you've had a foodie fix.

Second Home Peru: Located in Barranco -- Lima’s most artistic neighborhood and home to a number of must-eats, this eight-room boutique hotel (pictured above), is in what used to be the home of Peruvian artist Victor Delfin. He still maintains his studio there and the hotel is run by his vivacious (and English speaking) daughter Liliana. Located on a bluff over the Pacific Ocean, the hotel is full of her father’s arresting paintings and sculptures. Its lovely garden is serene and provides the perfect location for a full breakfast (included in rates) or a sunset cocktail. Splurge on the Mirador Rooms (#1, #2, and #3), which were added in 2011 and offer cliff-front sea views and private patios. Rates are from $125 per night.

Hotel de Autor

Hotel de Autor: This four-suite hotel is located in the Miraflores neighborhood, which is home to many of the city’s top restaurants. Rooms feature eclectic décor, hardwood floors, quilted leather headboards, heated towel racks, clawfoot tubs, huge bathrooms, and playful bedding. There’s also a furnished roof deck. Though the owner calls it an “anti-boutique hotel,” this place has all the hip details covered, from the antique books in your room to the bowl of Jordan almonds in the living-room-esque lobby to the straight-out-of-Brooklyn clientele. Nightly rates are from $175 and include a full breakfast and use of bikes.

Quinta Miraflores: In 2009, Barbara, the Italian owner, bought a nearly 200-year-old rundown house in Miraflores and spent three years meticulously renovating it into a homey hotel. The hotel’s four rooms are color-based including two premium rooms (violet and beige, $150 including breakfast) and two larger suites (green and orange, $180 including breakfast). Each is decorated in an almost shabby chic style -- think a Nantucket or West Hampton summer place — with brilliant white paint, maple wood floors, gleaming chandeliers, unframed oil paintings, a very large collection of antique wooden shoe forms, and fresh-cut flowers. The environment is so charming that the petite hotel is sometimes used for fashion shoots.
