Air Jamaica Puts a Cork in Champagne Service
In the ever-growing industry trend towards further cost-cutting, Air Jamaica has announced that as of May 1, they’ll be putting a cork in their free champagne service – an in-flight treat that was a real rarity for economy flyers, and a sparkling signature service for the airline. While they still intend to provide travelers with complimentary coffee, tea, soft drinks, and juices, somehow celebrating your Jamaican vacation over a cup of decaf or OJ just doesn’t have the same bubbly appeal. US Airways Rescinds on Hard-to-Swallow Beverage Fees
Most of us who have had to fork over a buck or two for bottled water or coffee on US Airways – the only major domestic airline to implement such a charge (back in August of 2008) – would agree that it was one of the hardest of the new “à la carte” airlines fees to swallow. Happily, the airline announced today that, beginning March 1, it will reinstate complimentary beverages on all of its flights. Read more
