Calling all Disney fans: You can now take a “Beauty and the Beast”-themed river cruise along the Rhine.
Adventures by Disney announced six sailings inspired by the Disney classic for 2018 (on ships from river cruise line AmaWaterways) that will take you through France, Switzerland, Germany, and the Netherlands, including a stop to the French village of Riquewihr — which looks just like Belle’s hometown.
So what makes this a Disney vacation instead of a regular old river cruise? For starters, a Disney-trained team will lead your tours throughout the eight-day cruise, whether you’re tobogganing in the Black Forest or touring storybook-worthy Heidelberg Castle. There will be a little extra magic onboard too, with a “Beauty and the Beast”-themed feast inspired by the song “Be Our Guest,” as well as screenings of both the live-action and animated film.
It’s a whole new world for families sailing with kids, who previously didn’t have many river cruise options. The AmaWaterways ships that will host these sailings were even custom-built with connecting cabins to accommodate families of three or four.
You don’t have to be a kid to enjoy the Disney cruises, though. Adventures by Disney also announced adult-focused sailings for 2018, including two epicurean cruises that will focus on experiencing the food of the wine in the region, inspired by Epcot International Food & Wine Festival, and Disney California Adventure Food & Wine Festival. There will also be an Oktoberfest-themed cruise that will highlight the beers along the Rhine during the iconic celebration.
