Helping you find the best value lodging experiences around the world, from budget to luxury and everything in between.

We love that Las Vegas, more than almost any other American city, offers exceptional hotel value. Here, you can regularly stay in 4- and 5-star properties for around $200 per night, even after you factor in the ubiquitous Las Vegas resort fees. One of our favorite spots for value on the strip is this one, the swanky -- but definitely not snobby -- The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas. Here's our review.

THE BASICS

Budget Level: Upscale ($150-$300/night)

Lodging Type: Large Hotel (100+ rooms)

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW

The Look
The Cosmopolitan has always had one of the most distinctive looks in Las Vegas. From the lobby, with its video-screen-covered towers, to its classic, David Rockwell-designed Chandelier Bar, it’s filled with eye-catching spaces. Now, with freshly redone rooms in gray and white with bright accent colors, The Cosmopolitan has never looked better. And of course, it’s still one of the only places in town where you can take in skyline vistas from your own private balcony -- some with incredible views of the dancing fountain at the Bellagio Hotel.

The Vibe
With a prime spot on the central Las Vegas strip, The Cosmopolitan exudes modern, big-city sophistication with a heady dose of wit. The crowds that stay and play here are massive, international, and on the move 24 hours a day.

Who Will Love It
If you can’t deal with the cheese and sleaze that you’ll find at other giant Vegas hotels -- think tacky carpet and themed restaurants — but you don’t want to spend a fortune on a room, you’ll find affordable respite here among tastefully chosen colors and well-placed art.

Who Might Not
Though The Cosmopolitan allows children, there’s little here that caters specifically to them, and kids may find themselves bored with all the grownup decor and food.

Best Amenity
The Cosmopolitan’s newly redesigned rooms include Japanese-style soaking tubs. With few places in Vegas to truly take a load off, this is a nice touch. And of course, a hotel with an urban sensibility wouldn’t be complete without a series of big-city dining staples. Stop by Momofuku for David Chang’s signature ramen and pork buns, or Milk Bar for quirky sweets. Or join the winding line at Eggslut. The Las Vegas outpost of this Los Angeles favorite dishes up egg sandwiches — including the Gaucho, complete with wagyu tri-tip steak -- to the masses daily.

MONEY MATTERS

What’s Included
WiFi is included, as is access to the fitness center and tennis courts. You’ll also receive complimentary admission to Marquee, the hotel’s nightclub, during select hours. This may not seem like much, but it can save you between $20 and $50 per person in cover charges.

Fees and Extra Costs You Should Know About
A $35 per night resort fee, plus tax, will be added to your bill.

How to Get a Deal
Stay around the holidays in November and December, when most people are saving their money and vacation time for family gatherings and you’ll score a deal -- and possibly pay less than $130 per night. You’ll also find savings in the summer months, when desert temperatures spike.

GETTING THERE

In the Neighborhood
Situated in the most central part of the Las Vegas strip, The Cosmopolitan is located directly between the Bellagio and The Shops at Crystals, an upscale shopping mall.

Nearest Airport
The Cosmopolitan is a quick 10-minute drive from McCarran International Airport. An Uber or Lyft ride service will cost about $12.

Nearest Public Transit
If you’re near the Aria or the Monte Carlo hotels, take the free tram one stop to The Shops at Crystals. It’ll save you a few minutes of walking, and in warmer months, you can enjoy the air conditioning.

THE BOTTOM LINE

Party like a grownup in Vegas at this fashionable, newly upgraded hotel.
