Budget airlines usually mean big savings. You know the ones — Ryanair, EasyJet, WOW — that offer a no-frills experience in exchange for cheap-as-they-come pricing. That’s why we’re excited to see them spread across the country, giving travelers everywhere access to affordable flight options — including to Europe for hundreds less than traditional carriers. Look out for cheap prices from these six cities, which will soon have new routes from budget airlines.

Columbus, Ohio: Spirit Airlines will expand to Ohio’s capital city starting Feb. 15, offering seven routes, including ones to Las Vegas and Florida. While fares aren't advertised, we found the lowest to be around $52 one-way, to Orlando in February and March. The flights will depart from the city’s primary airport, John Glenn Columbus International Airport, which will be its first from a low-cost airline. They’ll also add routes to Myrtle Beach and to New Orleans on March 22.

Newark, New Jersey: Already home to budget carriers like Allegiant, Spirit, and WOW, this Northeastern hub will now have even more options with the addition of two new airlines. Starting April 19, Primera Air will offer one-way flights to Paris, London, and Birmingham, England starting at $99 one-way. And Level Airlines will also start offering Newark to Orly service starting Sept. 4 for 99 euros one-way.

Oakland, California: This California city just picked up Level airlines, which started flying to and from Barcelona in June starting as low as $149 from Oakland to Barcelona.

St. Louis, Missouri: Iceland’s budget airline, WOW Air, already has cheap flights from Northeastern cities including Boston and Baltimore, but now you can fly to capital Reykjavik from the Midwest’s Gateway City (as well as Cleveland, Cincinnati, and Detroit) starting this spring for $99 one-way.

Biloxi, Mississippi: Allegiant airlines returned to this Southern town Aug. 30, when it began offering one-way tickets to Orlando for as little as $29.

Charleston, South Carolina: Frontier Airlines will offer nonstop flights from this increasingly popular town to three cities (Denver and Philadelphia starting in February and Chicago starting in May) starting as low as $34 one-way.
