Oregon's Willamette Valley is home to nearly 300 vineyards; and this May, for Oregon Wine Month, The Vintages Trailer Resort -- a collection of trendy, mid-century-inspired trailers in the heart of Oregon’s wine country -- is offering well-priced accommodations and a wine package, to boot.

The You Had Me at Pinot package, $75, includes two sets of tasting passes to two local wineries (normally a $60 value), plus a bottle of Pinot (Noir or Gris), two wine glasses, and — because you can never find one when you need it most — a bottle opener. The resort is within five miles of 20 vineyards, and another five miles' drive gets you to a handful of boutiques and restaurants in historic downtown McMinnville.

What to expect

Out of Vintages' 16 trailers, the oldest dates back to 1947, and the newest was built just last year. The interiors combine the novelty of staying in a vintage RV with the cushy luxuries of modern hotel accommodations. Each is retrofitted with Crosley Shelvador refrigerators from the 1950s and diner-style breakfast booths that look like they’ve been pulled out of an episode of Happy Days.

In suite, you’ll find locally sourced, pour-over coffee; hotel-quality linens; terrycloth robes; and L’Occitane bath products.

Guests also have access to a pool, a hot tub, and a set of personal cruiser bikes to use during their stay. You'll find the best deal on weekdays, when rates on most trailers are under $110 per night; over the weekend, rates are around $170 per night.
