When it comes to all-inclusive resorts, Nassau is the place to be. The capital city of the Bahamas boasts a number of properties that offer beachfront accommodations, huge swimming pools with crazy slides, and luxury spas. With a range in pricing and level of accommodation, there’s an all-inclusive resort for every traveler and every budget. Here are our favorites:
Melia Nassau Beach
A large oceanfront resort set on Cable Beach, the Melia Nassau Beach (pictured above) boasts over 700 rooms and suites, which makes for a lively scene in the various large public spaces both inside and poolside. Caribbean steel-drum bands entertain as the all-inclusive premium beverages flow freely, especially in the pool bar and on the beach. There are numerous fine-dining restaurants and outdoor grills, plenty of activities to keep both adults and children entertained all day and a Kids’ Club for ages 5 to 12, with specially designed programs to keep youngsters entertained from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Nightly rates are from $490 in July and August for a classic room with island view.
Sandals Royal Bahamian Spa Resort & Offshore Island
The elegant Sandals Royal Bahamian Resort was once the private Balmoral Club for the world’s elite; nowadays, it is a beautiful adults-only, all-inclusive beachfront haven that offers multiple swimming pools, 10 restaurants, an award-winning spa, and even a private island for secluded romance. Best of all, this Sandals truly does include everything — from scuba diving to paddle boards, windsurfers, tennis, and sailboats. You will pay extra for spa treatments and tours off the property, but we highly suggest a visit to downtown Nassau for shopping and a tour of the three forts along the waterfront (Fort Charlotte, Fort Fincastle, and Fort Montagu), all built in the 1700s. Rates are from $500 per night.
Breezes Resort and Spa Bahamas
Breezes Resort and Spa is a cozy, much more intimately sized resort than others found on Nassau and Paradise Island. Located on Cable Beach, the property caters to adults and children over 14, so it’s a place where grown-ups can truly find paradise. They call their service “Super Inclusive,” with the guarantee that the price you’re quoted is what you’ll pay, without any of the pesky add-ons that other resorts often tack to your final bill. That means all meals, beverages, land and water activities (not including scuba diving), WiFi, entertainment, and concierge service are included — with no tipping allowed. Rates are from $430 per night in July and August for a deluxe garden view room.
