This summer, all eyes will be on Rio de Janeiro for the 2016 Olympics. As we reported earlier, new hotels are popping up all over the city just in time for the influx of visitors. One such property is the Grand Hyatt Rio, which opens in March and is offering introductory rates as low as $209 per night for stays leading up to the games and even after the athletes go home.

The deal’s travel period is between March 1 and September 6 -- with blackout dates for the big event between August 1 and 22 -- but you’ll have to hurry and book before the offer ends on February 29. We found grand king rooms from $209 per night between March 28 and July 31, as well as September 1-6. You can save at least $50 with this introductory offer in comparison to the hotel’s standard pricing.

More on the property: There are 436 guestrooms and 43 suites with outdoor terraces -- a feature not commonly found at other hotels in this bustling city -- and views of Barra Beach or Marapendi Lagoon. Amenities include complimentary WiFi, a pool and wet deck, beach and lagoon access, spa and fitness center, and three restaurants serving local cuisine, along with Italian and sushi.

Located in the Barra da Tijuca neighborhood, known as the city’s cultural and economic epicenter, it’s close to the Olympic golf course, Nelson Mandela Park, the Rio de Janeiro Botanical Garden, designer shopping, upscale dining, and nightlife.
