In September, the Nobu Hotel opened at the historic Eden Roc Miami Beach. The Eden Roc’s transformation into a luxury resort included an extensive multi-million dollar renovation and landmark restoration.
The new Nobu Hotel at Eden Roc is also the latest addition in the growing Nobu Hotel collection, which includes Nobu Hotel Caesars Palace and Nobu Hotel City of Dreams in Manila. It is the brainchild of renowned chef Nobu Matsuhisa, actor Robert De Niro, Hollywood producer Meir Teper, and Australian business tycoon James Packer. Nobu restaurants have built a strong following of celebrities and tastemakers, thanks to impeccable service and good eats. And the investors hope to emulate that vibe with its branded hotels and residences.

The Nobu Hotel Miami Beach offers something that may cost a lot, but, in a city known for its party culture, is priceless -- tranquility. Unlike some Miami hot spots that have DJs in the lobby, this hotel exudes a refreshing spa-like feel. If you’ve ever wanted to live in a bathrobe, this might be the place for you. And while there are plenty of activities to keep you entertained, it’s not in your face.

The Nobu Hotel Miami Beach features 206 guest rooms, including three penthouse suites. Much like the Nobu restaurant aesthetic, the hotel’s palette draws upon raw, natural forms and textures with accents of blue and purple, like a Japanese beach house. Cerused wood furniture, lantern-style lighting, custom wall coverings, and black-and-white photography of Japanese landscapes contribute to the relaxed setting. The Food
Well, this is the Nobu hotel -- so you know the food is going to knock your socks off. (Luckily, they provide slippers.) In addition to Nobu Miami and Bar Nobu, there’s also 24-hour in-room dining provided by the restaurant, which features chef Nobu Matsuhisa’s famous Japanese-fusion dishes like the must-try Black Cod Miso. Plus, acclaimed farm-to-fork restaurant Malibu Farm is set to open this month on the property. It will also be the South Florida outpost for Helene Henderson’s California restaurant chain, which serves locally sourced, seasonal dishes such as pea and pesto couscous and grass-fed beef sirloin with chili cherry tomatoes.

Those who love Miami but are looking for a respite from the South Beach scene will appreciate the laid-back luxury and peaceful atmosphere of the Nobu hotel. Plus, the mid-Miami beach address is a convenient central location, allowing guests to explore the rest of the city’s neighborhoods and attractions with ease.
Who Might Not
For those looking for a buzzy hotel-cum-club, the Nobu might not be your shot of tequila. The hotel and adjacent Eden Roc do exude retro glam, but it’s 1960s chic, not 1980s Miami Vice style.
