Sin City’s heat factor amps up over the summer — as do its hotel deals. If you can manage a trip to Las Vegas during the warmest months of the year, expect to save, including at a brand-new property.
$69 at SLS Las Vegas
Open since last August, rooms this summer at the 1,600-room SLS Las Vegas sink as low as $42 per night. Considering this is a premium resort — interiors are at the hands of esteemed designer Philippe Starck and celeb chef José Andrés is attached to the restaurant — this is a bargain worth facing the desert heat for. We found the $65 rates available on weekdays in June and July. But if you can wait until late July and throughout August, the savings are even greater: pay just $41.40 for weekdays with a 60-day advance purchase. To give you a sense of just how much you’re saving, if you tried to visit during the last weekend in May, you’d pay $282 per night.
Suites at The Venetian and The Palazzo for $149
Want to stay in Vegas’ largest suites on the Strip — but don’t want to pay a fortune? Look no further than the “luxury suites” at The Venetian (from 650 square feet) and The Palazzo (from 720 square feet). Each of these suites pack a ton in the spacious rooms: a king bed; dining table set; Roman tub; three television sets and a DVD player; and a sunken living room. June through August, the hotels’ Sweet Suite Escape package gets you into those very retreats for less. More specifically, we plugged in some dates and found the best rates, from $149 per night, for most weekdays in mid- to late-June, as well as weekdays throughout July. You’ll pay a bit more, from $169, for weekdays in August. On weekends, price spikes to $229-$289 in June and July, and $209 in August — still a pretty good deal for the palatial spaces.
