Whether you crave a slice of key lime pie, a tour of Ernest Hemingway’s former home, or simply a chaise on the beach, Key West offers all that — in a super-hip, laid-back kind of way. And that’s precisely the vibe captured at NYAH, which stands for “Not Your Average Hotel.” This less than year-old property boasts artisan appeal and budget prices, even in winter. For best savings, bring a bunch of your friends. Here’s a breakdown of the room rates and offerings.
We especially love the seven conch-style guesthouses. They have highly flexible configurations in each room, right down to the furniture and beds, meaning each room can sleep anywhere from two to six people. Even in the winter, rates can be as low as $289 for the entire guesthouse — we found this exact rate available for a four-night stay starting January 19 and 27. On other dates, say a three-night stay beginning February 6, prices can jump to $489 a night. But even at this rate, it’s rare to find a crash pad on the beach for a group during this time of year. And if you book through the hotel’s website, you can nab 15 percent off, which takes the rate down to $245.65 (from $289) and $415 (from $489). This means paying as little as $41-$70 per person if you have a group of six. (If you’re traveling alone, single rooms range in the high $100s.)
More about what’s included: A daily continental breakfast is complimentary for all guests, as is a daily afternoon happy hour and free WiFi throughout the property. In the rooms, each bed is connected to two USB charging stations for your devices, while onsite are also three pools, two Jacuzzis, and two lounge areas for small-group socializing. Sounds like a dream? Perhaps it’s because the co-creators have NYAH have some serious street cred in the hospitality industry; Jesper Arnoldsson, who opened this hotel with his brother, formerly worked at The Venetian in Las Vegas and for Royal Caribbean International.
