The (truly) white sand beaches of Pensacola are one of the best kept secrets in Florida. And, this September, there’s one more reason to visit this stretch along the Gulf of Mexico: a two-day food festival headed up by celebrity chef John Besh.

The eighth annual Taste of the Beach will take place this September 18-19 along Casino Beach, where Pensacola’s finest chefs will be serving up tasty coastal cuisine.

Chef John Besh, host of two cooking shows and owner of 11 restaurants, will host Friday night’s VIP event that includes six chef tastings, a cooking demonstration by chef Besh, followed by questions, autographs and pictures with acclaimed the chef. Tickets for this event are still available for $65.

Saturday’s event is free. Festival-goers can party on the beach for the daylong event, which includes crab racing, a beer and football tent, meet-and-greets with chef John Besh, concerts, signature dishes like seafood nachos and fish tacos for $5 or less, and much more.

What we love about this food festival is that it takes place on one of Florida's best beaches -- and, unlike most food festivals that are closed off in a convention center, here, foodies can get their fill of crave-worthy seafood snacks with stunning ocean views. When it's time to take a break from the festivities, it's easy to get on the waters or simply lounge on the beach. In other words, it's a two-for-one punch for beach-goers who love food and foodies who love the beach.
