From $330 Per Person: All-Inclusive Antigua Deals for January

by  Kristine Hansen | Nov 8, 2015

On the heels of JetBlue’s newly launched non-stop flights between New York’s JFK Airport and Antigua, there’s never been a better time to migrate south to this island in the West Indies. The flights clock in at a little more than four hours long and take off from New York City each week on Tuesday, Thursday, and Sunday at 9:23 a.m., while the return flight departs at 3:35 p.m. on the same days -- meaning you can spend some extra time soaking up the Antiguan sun on your arrival and departure days.

January, in particular, yields some great round-trip fares; we found ones starting from $457, while a flight on other airlines can cost upwards of $682. With an eye on Antigua, we unearthed three deals at all-inclusive properties to further tempt you to make a trek to this Caribbean island. The island traditionally attracts a luxury crowd and has upscale pricing to cater accordingly -- but if you book your stay before February and March, when crowds flock to the Caribbean in earnest, you can still find some nice savings for a smart splurge.

From $506 Per Person Per Night: Curtain Bluff
With the “January Brrr” special, snag 20 percent off rooms for stays of at least three nights during January 4-22, 2016 -- which translates to rates from $506 per person, per night or $1,012 total per night in a deluxe room. For comparison, stays in February jump to $1,330 per night. The rate covers all meals and drinks (including top-shelf bar drinks), water sports, use of beach lounges and sun chaises, fitness center access (where yoga, aerobics and Pilates classes are included), and activities such as squash, tennis, basketball, and golf. The resort has 72 rooms and suites, two restaurants, and a spa that overlooks the sea.

From $496 Per Person Per Night: Galley Bay Resort & Spa
For stays between January 3 and March 8, 2016, rates are being slashed by 30 percent at this resort with 98 guestrooms -- some of which are just steps from the white sand beaches. We found a split-level premium beachfront suite with an upper balcony and a lower veranda for five nights in early January (specifically the fifth through the tenth) for a total price of $4,960 total (coming out to $496 per person per night).Without the discount, the experience would set you back $6,200.

From $330 Per Person Per Night: Sandals Grande Antigua Resort & Spa
The mahogany furnishings in the rooms at this resort are a step up from the cookie-cutter Caribbean décor in most all-inclusive properties. Want to make a splash? There are six pools on site. Stays here include food and drinks at 11 restaurants and seven bars, in addition to water activities like unlimited scuba diving. For a January 4-11 stay for two, we found a total price of $4,629 in a deluxe poolside room, which comes out to roughly $331 per person per night -- down from a total price of $10,598.
