There are many reasons to go across the pond in fall, not least of which are the flight deals that pop up every summer. On our radar this week are two great fares to Europe: $499 roundtrip to Milan on Emirates and $599 roundtrip to Istanbul on Turkish Airlines. But, as common with these types of price slashes, you only have a few days to act.
Emirates fans might recognize the details of the Milan companion sale. Per previous deals, tickets have to be booked in pairs. The companion fares start from $999 for two economy tickets from New York’s JFK to Milan — or $499 per person — for travel between this October and March 20, 2016. Note that if you depart Thursday through Saturday or return Saturday through Monday, there’s a $100 fee per leg. (Business companion fares start from $3,800, with a $200 per-way weekend fee.) Book by this Thursday, August 20.
Further east, Turkish Airlines is taking travelers to Istanbul from New York, Houston, and Washington, D.C. for $599 roundtrip. There are sales from a number of other U.S. cities, too, including $749 from Miami and $799 from Los Angeles and San Francisco. Even if you’re not planning on staying in the former Ottoman empire, it’s a convenient stopover city to countless European destinations. Must book by this Wednesday, August 19 for travel between this October 3 and March 20, 2016. A blackout period over December 7-27 applies. (Use the dropdown menu to change departure cities.)
