Eye Candy Alert: The Setai Miami Beach

What’s the hottest place to stay in Miami, even 10 years after it opened? And we’re not referring to the temperature on the pool deck. The answer is the Setai. Situated in a geometric high rise on Collins Avenue, the mood at the hotel is strictly zen, and the sense of opulent minimalism -- that’s a thing -- does not come cheap. With rates that easily creep up to $1,000 per night in winter and spring -- even for basic rooms -- this is clearly a playground for the well-heeled.

But like all Miami hotels, this glamorous hideaway gets more affordable as temperatures rise in summer. Rooms in July this year are hovering around $550 per night, a worth-every-dollar splurge that comes with suite-style “Asian deco” digs with a king bed, black granite bathtub, and Bose surround sound speakers. Guests craving see-and-be-seen cred get access to the property’s breathtaking swimming pools, plus a beach full of plush loungers, and towel and magazine service. Now that’s minimalism we can live with.
