Not even a month into spring and we’re already daydreaming about slipping off our rain boots to wiggle our toes in the sand. With April showers on the horizon, there’s no better time to start thinking about a beach vacation, even if we don’t get to travel until summer. And the newly renovated Naples Grande Beach Resort on Florida’s coast is certainly one to pine after — especially with a great reopening rate from $159 this June through August.
Sure, lots of southern hotels offer deals during the hot summer, but this one caught our eye because the property, formerly a Waldorf Astoria, is fresh off a nearly six-month, multi-million dollar remake. Plus, staying here will set you back as much as $499 later on in the year.
So what can you enjoy here? Each of the 424 guestrooms and suites feature balconies that provide views of the coast or the Gulf of Mexico, and the washes of blues and whites evoke the beach even when you’re inside. Elsewhere onsite, Naples Grande boasts not one but three pools, including a 100-foot waterslide at the family-friendly Mangrove Pool. For quieter downtime, stake out a spot near the adults-only Palm Terrace Pool; for water aerobics and lap swimming, head head to Hibiscus Hideaway. There’s free WiFi throughout — and did we mention that the property sits on 200 acres of mangrove, perfect for quiet hikes?
To snag the lowest $159 nightly rate this summer, check into a coastal view room on June 1 or July 22. The other sweet spots are in the last few weeks of the summer, when nightly rates go up just a bit to $179 for the arrival dates of July 23-20, August 2-5, and August 10-12. Check in on June 11, July 20, and August 21-22 (a weekend!) and pay $189. All other stays during this period are priced from $199 — still a good 60 percent off from peak season.
