The Long Island City neighborhood of Queens has become much trendier in recent years, welcoming hip eateries along boutique hotels like Z NYC and the Paper Factory Hotel. Now there’s one more new kid on the block: Boro Hotel New York.
Open for barely more than a month, Boro is still in its soft opening phase — meaning guests can take advantage of ultra-low rates for a limited time before prices start to skyrocket after an official launch. Just how low are these rates, you ask? $159 gets you a night in a one king or queen bed room on August 16, 23, and 30. Spring for a room with a balcony for only $10 more. The cost bumps up slightly to $179 for a room with or without a balcony on the nights of August 17-20 — then climbs to $199 for August 24-29 and 31 and September 1-3 and 6-7. Still, its a huge savings; after Labor Day, rates jump to $299 and beyond for the rest of the year.
The sleek hotel sports an industrial feel with cement pillars and floors, but bookcases and a fireplace in the lobby add warmth to the space. Onsite, you’ll find a rooftop bar — perfect for taking in city vistas — and a lobby café. Each of its 108 guestrooms has floor-to-ceiling windows, and some even have terraces or balconies.
