After witnessing any Cirque Du Soleil show, it’s inevitable that the audience leaves wondering, “How do they do that?” Very soon, it’ll be possible to get a first-hand glimpse at the athletic and creative artistry that makes Cirque Du Soleil performances so unique, with a brand new program at Club Med resorts called CREACTIVE.
The first CREACTIVE experience will debut at Club Med Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic in June of 2015. Our favorite part? The CREACTIVE opportunities are part of the expansive range of all-inclusive activities to choose from at Club Med, so you won’t have to pay an extra penny for the unique thrills. (Rates start from $888 per week.)
CREACTIVE marks the first time that the public can be fully immersed in the Cirque Du Soleil experience. Not only will there be acrobatic activities such as the flying trapeze, aerial silk, tightrope walking, high bungee, trampoline, vertical wall, and unicycle, but there will be creative expression classes as well — think: mask painting or clowning. More than 25 CREACTIVE options will be available to Club Med guests.
Both kids and adults can participate in the classes, and the classes aim to provide an in-depth experience. Beyond juggling balls, you’ll also learn devil sticks and diabolo, two distinctive disciplines that are showcased in some Cirque Du Soleil shows. On the flying trapeze, you’ll not only get a feel for swinging back and forth, but also for jumping off and — hopefully — landing gracefully. Activities will take place in a colorful, circus-inspired playground designed by Cirque Du Soleil professionals.
