JW Marriott GR- Twitter cookie - 620Ready to be let in on a secret? Hotels throughout the country have also perfected certain treats that they don’t publicly advertise, from a manager’s favorite dish to an under-the-radar spa treatment. Here are a few of our favorite hotel secrets from across the U.S. Order one of them on your next trip and step into the inner circle…

Thank the general manager at The Westin Cape Coral Resort in Florida for introducing one of our favorite snacks to the property: poutine, made of French fries piled with cheese and gravy. The hotel’s Canadian GM often requested this popular dish from his hometown, but guests soon caught on. The hotel’s executive chef has now perfected a specialty version with fresh fish and other local ingredients. Order it at the resort’s Marker92 Waterfront Bar & Bistro. Rooms start at $127.

Feeling a bit under the weather? Cozy up to a comforting bowl of chicken noodle soup at The Westin La Paloma Resort & Spa in Tucson, Arizona. The dish contains a healthy dose of ginger essence, which helps clear up congestion and nauseousness. Hopefully, you’ll be restored and ready to enjoy the rest of your vacation in no time. Rooms start at $99.

It’s not a new idea, but it’s a delicious and superbly decadent one. A hot chocolate bathtub soak isn’t publicly advertised at W Fort Lauderdale, but travelers who have saved up for a special splurge can request one via the hotel’s Whatever/Whenever personalized service. A 48-hour notice (and $700) is required. Rooms start at $221.

A 12-oz. natural American Kobe Delmonico steak is a favorite of diners at Hollywood Prime, the restaurant at The Westin Diplomat Resort & Spa. If the very idea of so much meat puts you into a food coma, you can enjoy the same quality beef on skewers as an appetizer. Rooms start at $229.

For skeptics of the power of Twitter, let us point you to the JW Marriott Grand Rapids, a sleek, contemporary property right on the Grand River. Tag the hotel in a tweet (OK, or Facebook post) and the property’s tech-loving pastry team will have sugar cookies in the form of your social platform’s logo waiting for your arrival. Before taking a bite, we suggest posting a photo to your social networks. Rooms start at $209.
