In Puerto Rico, travelers can enjoy a savings of up to 40 percent at the Wyndham Grand Rio Mar, with rates as low as $139 per night. Even better, each booking includes a $100 dining credit as well as 25 percent of savings on resort activities, from non-motorized water sports and golf, to spa treatments and cabana rentals. Book by September 30 for travel through December 20; use promo code BPRFBCR. (Does not include taxes and gratuities).
Looking to cash in your vacation days? Starwood’s “Sunsational Savings” promotion includes two great options for enjoying luxury for less. On upscale St. John, the Westin is currently offering a fourth night free and a $100 dining credit for travel through November 20. This means that rates come out to as low as $285 per night — nearly half the typical August starting rates of $419. Next month, the average rate drops even lower to $213 per night with the fourth night free ($40 daily resort fee not included). Use promo code ZS4 when booking.
On Vieques Island, W Retreat & Spa is offering discounted rates plus a third night free from August 13 to November 1. While rooms typically start from $509 in August, you’ll spend $279 per night for three nights, plus $100 in dining credit ($60 daily resort fee and taxes not included). Use promo code SS3R when booking.
On August 15, rates at the AAA four-diamond CasaMagna Marriott Puerto Vallarta Resort and Spa drop to $124 for the rest of the month (from the current $140). But if you have an extra couple of days to relax, consider the fourth night free “Sand Dollar” special. While the starting rates for this promotion are actually a bit higher at $175 — coming out to an average of $131 per night — the $50 daily resort credit makes up for the small difference. Use the credit toward culinary classes, tastings of special property-brand tequila, and other cultural programs.
We’ve said it before and we’ll say it again — literally super-hot destinations like Arizona are where the great deals are at. Earlier this summer, we highlighted the Westin La Paloma. This month, rates are dipping as low as $99 for the “Summer Savings” package, which includes a $25 credit when you book two nights or more — essentially getting a quarter of your rate back to spend.
Along the same vein, Miami Beach deals are also continuing to heat up. The boutique Sense Beach House, about a three minute walk from white sands and blue waters, is a casual but chic home away from home with a rooftop pool, outdoor veranda for hanging out, a playroom with ping pong and foosball tables as well as board games, and a tapas restaurant. The experience will cost you as much as $419+ during the winter, but you’ll find plenty of rates between $169 and $200 right now.
The Greater Williamsburg area’s culture, shopping, and beach scene becomes more appealing than usual with a regionwide August for All campaign at 48 participating hotels, attractions, restaurants, and shops. There’s plenty to mix and match to create the perfect getaway, but some examples include: one free night when you book one night’s stay in a suite room at Willamsburg Woodlands Hotel & Suites (promo code SUITE PLUS); third night free at the Williamsburg KOA Campground (promo code AG); 2-for-1 $20 Quick Queue passes for priority line access at Busch Gardens; and 20 percent off weekday bookings at GO Ape Treetop Adventure (promo code AUGUST20).
Over in the Pacific Northwest, Hotel Monaco Seattle is the home for beach bums. Its “Life’s a Beach” promo essentially wraps a ton of perks into the current best available rate, from $239. For stays through September 2, enjoy gratis beach towels, two water taxi tickets to Alki Beach, water and snacks, plus a bag of kid-friendly sand toys that grown-ups who are young at heart will love, too. (More ferry tickets are available at the concierge desk for a discount.) Use promo code BEACH.
