Just because it’s summer doesn’t mean it’s too early to start planning a winter getaway. We’ve already laid out some good reasons for visiting Iceland in the winter, but here is an offer from Icelandair that might seal the deal.
Icelandair is offering a three- to seven-night package that includes flights, accommodation, and a tour, starting at $716 per person (based on double occupancy) for four nights. You can fly from Boston, Denver, New York (JFK), Newark, Seattle, or Washington, D.C. and take your pick from the Icelandair Hotel Reykjavik Natura, Icelandair Hotel Reykjavik Marina, or the Hilton Reykjavik Nordica Hotel. The lowest priced fares we found were for Denver departures and stays at Icelandair Hotel Reykjavik Natura. Fares start at $839 from Boston; $945 from New York; and $945 from Washington, D.C. and Seattle.
For comparison, a round-trip from New York on the same dates would cost $694 and three nights at the Icelandair Hotel Reykjavik Natura would cost $483. The included six-hour tour, which visits the Laugarvatn Fontana Geothermal Baths and hunts the northern lights , costs from $132 when booked separately. So that adds up to a total of $364 in savings.
Travel from November 1 to December 15, 2014, and January 6 and April 13, 2015. Book here.
