Looking for a remote escape to getaway from it all? Mission Point Resort, a property on Michigan’s Mackinac Island that can only be reached by ferry or private plane, lets you literally disconnect. Better yet, there’s a package filled with fun activities that’s running for another two weeks.
Valid through October 19, the hotel’s Pure Michigan promotion offers rates starting from $185. The warm, spacious guest rooms and suites are spread between two buildings on the resort, all with complimentary WiFi use and Health Club access (always included in any stay). Included in the package are daily breakfast, a welcome amenity, two-hour bike rental ($5 per person), admission to Tower Museum and the Richard and Jane Moonigan Art Museum ($5 ), a round of golf on the 18-hole putting course ($10), and $100 food and beverage credit — plus roundtrip ferry tickets aboard the Star Line to get to and from the resort ($23).
What’s still available in the last weeks of the deal? We only found $185 rates for the nights of October 15 and 16, but you can stay still book the promotion through the middle of next week for just $20 more. It’s also worth noting that the standard rates are actually a bit lower than the promotional rates — starting at $145-$165 — but the food and beverage credit alone more than makes up for the difference.
Of course, if you’re looking for additional diversions, the resort also offers activities like croquet, bocce ball, tennis, and even ghost tours for an additional cost. When all the fun gets your stomach growling, on-site restaurants range from counter-service to table-service establishments.
The package is based on double occupancy (activities included for both guests). A two-night stay is required, while extensions beyond the first two nights must be booked at the best available rate. The package doesn’t include a 10 percent resort fee, and additional guests beyond the first two are $25 per person per night.
