Villa Campestri, a stunner of a property that’s situated in the hills of Mugello, just 45 minutes from Florence, and has something that other Tuscan resorts don’t: an on-site olive grove and production facility.

The Renaissance villa, which is owned and run by Paolo Pasquali and his daughters, hosts guests and also produces olive oil of exceptional quality. Guests of Villa Campestri are encouraged to indulge in tastings, cooking classes, lessons, multi-course meals made with the property’s olive oil (including some exceptional desserts), and even luxurious spa treatments utilizing the organic, cold pressed olive oil. What’s more is that the villa is affordable, with special rates starting at 107 Euro per room, per night. Breakfast is included and comes with a generous spread of cakes, homemade breads, yogurt, cold cuts, cheese, bacon, eggs, and specialty pastries.

Rooms in the villa have been lovingly preserved and are located in their original Renaissance-era locations -- a handful in the villa, and others in the adjoining farmhouse and old dairy house. Each of the 25 rooms, suites, and apartments are dressed with antique furnishings, and come equipped with a minibar, TV, comfy slippers, and specialty beauty products. The rooms with breezy canopy beds are especially romantic.

And while the olive oil and the tastings take center stage at Villa Camestri, don’t miss a dip in the properties’ sparkling pool -- tucked away among the lush greenery with brilliant views of the Mugello Valley.
