Great news for traveling foodies: Restaurant week has been one-upped by the first-ever Airport Restaurant Month. Global restaurateur HMSHost recently announced that 20 airports in North America will participate in the inaugural event, offering specially priced menus throughout the month of October. If you’re traveling this month, arriving extra early may not be the worst idea. Fine-dining in restaurants such as Todd English’s SOHO Bistro at JFK or Beaudevin at Charlotte Douglas International Airport will make your airport experience loads more pleasant.

Examples of signature Airport Restaurant Month menus include marinated skirt steak with balsamic onions and blue cheese crema or a pan-seared sockeye salmon with capers and remoulade sauce. And while the lower prices ($17-$25) don’t include alcohol, there will be recommended wine pairings that thirsty travelers can order to accompany each dish.
