SkyMall Tuesday: Private iPhone Case
I tend to sleep on planes. It helps pass the time, energizes me for my trip, and keeps me from becoming annoyed by everyone around me. When I am awake, however, I prefer to busy myself with inflight Wi-Fi, onboard entertainment systems, and snacking. Oddly, I’ve also killed time by watching entire movies on other people’s screens. I’ve done so without sound. I find that the movies selected for screenings on planes lend themselves to muted viewing. I don’t really need to hear Miss Congeniality 2: Armed and Fabulous to understand the plot. However, I don’t want anyone freeloading on my media when I’m using my iPhone. I often read sensitive emails and view videos that are not suitable for all audiences (parental discretion is advised). At SkyMall Tuesday headquarters, I don’t have to be shy about my viewing habits. However, on planes, discretion is the better part of valor. Thankfully, SkyMall knows that we need to keep some things away from the prying eyes of our fellow passengers. That’s why they offer the Private iPhone Case.
I get very annoyed when I see my neighbor’s eyes wandering in the direction of my screen. That’s why I need to hide my iPhone in a way that doesn’t interfere with my needs. I should not be made to feel ashamed of my in-flight viewing habits. To the contrary, it is the nosy passengers around me who should feel shame. A pox on thee, I say!
Think that you shouldn’t watch graphic content on airplanes? Believe that it’s already difficult to see someone else’s iPhone from an angle because of glare? Well, while you annoy everyone by leaving the keyboard click sounds enabled on your iPhone, we’ll be reading the product description:
The private iPhone case is a great way to discreetly watch a movie or read sensitive emails with others sitting nearby. The black case opens in a shadow box configuration that provides privacy and prevents glare on your screen.
It includes a mini tripod for hands-free viewing.
If you’re going to watch a movie or read a sensitive email, it’s best to allow for hands-free viewing so that you can multitask. Just be sure to lay a blanket over your lap first.
When you’re on a plane, you don’t need to kowtow to everyone around you. You deserve to enjoy your own favorite entertainment options at 35,000 feet free from the judgement of those around you. Avoid the glares and looks of disdain from your fellow passengers by setting your iPhone deep inside a shadow box perched atop a tripod. It’s the most discreet way to entertain yourself.
