Something tasty this way comes: Whether you're an avid fan of Top Chef or looking for a unique night out, former Butt magazine mustached gay pinup and celebuchef Ty-Lör Boring is popping up shop in NYC's Nolita neighborhood with T.B.D. Restaurant. The dinners-only engagement will last for just six nights next week, February 6–11, in City Grit, an industrial antiques store by day and pop-up restaurant by night, housed in the old St. Patrick's Elementary building (Martin Scorsese's alma mater!).

If you've been watching the TV show's current Texas edition, you know the 34-year-old Boring to be a master of fusion, melding his classic French and Asian training into superb examples of farm-to-table seasonality. For his first NYC solo dining experience, expect all that, plus one-on-one time with the Brooklyn-by-way-of-Kansas-City personality that made him a hoot to watch on the show – and if you were on Fire Island last summer, a fun one to run into at The Pine's signature restaurant, Almond.

As of now, tickets for the pop-up event are already 50-percent sold out and we can see why. As Top Chef put it: Ty-Lör is a master at creating simple, stunning dishes with a raw and sensual edge. He has traveled the world over learning different types of cuisines and combining those tastes in his own unique way. "I have had a lot of great meals in my day, but the simple honest pleasures of street food make me happier than 16 courses of anything,” Boring says.

Mum's the word on the exact five-course pre-fixe menu, but Ty-Lör sees it as an “homage to winter," with a focus on local and seasonal ingredients prepared with elegant Asian and French twists. One of the featured dishes will be pulled from one of his challenge wins on the show (our bet goes to his modernist cube of watermelon with olive oil powder on top.) Vegetarian options and wine pairings will also be available.

Additional fun will come from beverage sponsorships, both alcoholic and non-alcoholic, as well as from the company, set to include Boring's coterie of friends and notable NYC foodies (not to mention the chef himself). Additionally, guests will learn more about the original BBQ restaurant concept he's developing in NYC with his brother M. Dane Zahorsky, an award-winning Kansas City pitmaster. Pop-ups in Los Angeles, Seattle, and Washington, D.C., are in the works, as well.

T.B.D. dinners start at 7:30pm, February 611 at City Grit (38 Prince St., New York City). Tickets cost $75 – visit www.CityGritNYC.com/#TYLR to purchase them.
