Mexicana Airlines will fly the skies once more beginning January 24. The 87-year-old airline folded back in August 2010 due to financial troubles and union setbacks, but was recently rescued by PC Capital Investment Group. Air Canada and Virgin America attempted to pick up slack from the collapsed airline, but passenger seats to Mexico dropped an estimated 30 percent and tourism boards suspect hundreds of millions of dollars in losses. Mexicana will increase the number of flights through April, but will re-launch with six planes servicing Cancun and Guadalajara via Chicago, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Miami, New York, and San Antonio.
