Great Value on Cunard Panama Canal Cruises this Winter

We here at Cruise News love the Cunard line for its old-world style and luxury flair, but tend to balk at the price tag. However, a handful of Panama Canal cruises this December, January, and February promise the same bells and whistles at a much lower price point. Our favorite is a 15-night sailing starting December 6 from Fort Lauderdale to Los Angeles with stops in Aruba, Costa Rica, Guatemala, and Mexico – as well as the requisite canal transfer – for just $1,295 per person. That’s about $86/night. Itineraries of that length often cost twice as much on Cunard.

The rate doesn’t include a couple hundred dollars in taxes and fees, and you’ll have to pay one-way airfare to get yourself back to Fort Lauderdale. A second sailing of the same itinerary on January 30 starts at $1,695 per person.

Other Panama Canal sailings with similar value include an 11-night round-trip voyage from Fort Lauderdale departing January 19 for $1,295 per person and a 17-night itinerary on February 28 from Los Angeles to New York starting at $2,095 per person.

All above cruises are on Cunard’s Queen Victoria, and listed rates are for an inside cabin. You can find individual sailings by doing a search on Cunard’s website.
