Heads up, skiiers and boarders: Though it’s only October, you can start dusting off your gear – if it’s gathered any, that is, since the spring season continued so late into the summer – for some sweet early season deals on the slopes.

We’ve already given you the scoop on Mammoth Mountain’s offerings in this Daily Deal post (snowfall report: The resort already has 18 inches!) but there are plenty of other places where snow is falling (thanks, La Niña!) and prices are, too.

At Teton Mountain Lodge in Jackson Hole, WY, the Powder Clause Package is up for grabs, offering 20 percent savings on all room types, a $30 daily breakfast credit, and a$40 spa credit. There’s no room night minimum, and you can change your dates depending on the weather (though prices may increase, you’re still guaranteed some pretty good savings).

But you’ll need to lock the deal in by December 1; a quick search on the website revealed lots of availability, save for December 23 through January 1. The package is valid for stays through April 8, 2012.

The season also starts with savings at Colorado’s Crested Butte Mountain Resort, which celebrates its 50th anniversary this year with a free lift ticket on its November 23 opening day, plus savings of 20 percent on all properties if you book by November 1. In addition, the resort also is extending birthday wishes to its guests throughout the 2011-2012 winter season with a free lift ticket on your birthday.

At Snowbird in Utah, $99 will get you a room plus lift ticket. Prices are per person, per night, and a three-night minimum is required, but that still gives you some impressive savings, since day passes have inched up this year to a pricey $78 for tram and chair access ($72 for just chair) for the 2011-2012 season.

Further north, you can carve up the coveted slopes of Blackcomb Mountain in the skiing haven of Whistler, British Columbia, while saving up to 36 percent on accommodations and lift tickets thanks to the resort’s Book Early and Save packages. The website is a little cumbersome to use, but a quick search turned up a four-night stay for two adults, including lift tickets, in mid-December for $880. Book by November 15 for the best rate plus the resort’s best price guarantee.
