Telluride, Colorado
Pile into a new enclosed (heated!) snowcat “people hauler” with 11 of your closest friends and ascend to Telluride’s Alpino Vino (www.visittelluride.com), one of the highest wine bars in ski country, at nearly 12,000 feet. The European-style chalet offers antipasto, gourmet sandwiches, and an extensive variety of vino served on an outdoor deck.

Whiskey
Park City, Utah
Utah’s first legal distillery opened since the 1870s, High West Distillery and Saloon (www.highwest.com) produces small-batch whiskeys and vodkas in a ski-in, ski-out setting near the lift in Park City’s Old Town. Born in 2009 (just  after Utah relaxed its liquor laws), the gastro-saloon features fare like whiskey-cider-braised short ribs.

Whistler, Canada
Launched just before the 2010 Winter Olympics, the Belvedere Ice Room at the Bearfoot Bistro (www.bearfootbistro.com) showcases 48 vodkas from around the globe in a subzero-degree room where patrons don loaner Canada Goose down parkas and fuzzy hats while sampling flights of the spirit. Duck into the bistro for caviar and oysters.
