Built in 1861, the Beau-Rivage Palace
shows only the finest features of its age, thanks to several renovations and expansions since 2000. Massive staircases and soaring ceilings give way to 169 rooms, each individually decorated with old-world touches, from antiques to embroidered duvets, along with modern amenities like flat-screen TVs and Wi-Fi. The balcony rooms lend views of Lake Geneva and the Alps, while the Cinq Mondes Spa and the Michelin-starred Anne-Sophie Pic restaurant, run by the chef of the same name, add to the wow factor.
The Value The Pure Inspiration two-night spa package, with rates starting at $913/night for two, includes five spa treatments per guest, as well as daily breakfast and a spa lunch. Through July 31, Shermans Travel readers also receive a special gift, a bottle of wine, and a room upgrade.
The Catch The spa treatments are limited to a fixed menu, and some last only 20 minutes.
