Known for their spectacular underwater safaris around queer-friendly Bali, five-year-old gay-owned Dive the Rainbow is offering a deep discount to LGBT divers on an exclusive 11-night live-aboard scuba cruise June 17–July 4 for only $3,100 per person (twin/double occupancy), plus roughly $300 more for domestic flight transfers to the port of Tarakan.

Run in conjunction with luxury operator Tambora Dive with the exact same Bali–Sangalaki (Borneo)–Bali route as their “Pearls of Borneo” trips— but at $700 less!—the gay-only cruise promises dive enthusiasts a lake full of non-stingy jellyfish, turtles, and mantas (“99.99999% guaranteed”) plus unending technicolor awe in an area renowned for its untouched beaches, unspoilt coral reefs and immense biodiversity. All skill levels of diving will be accommodated for in the relatively tame east Borneo waters.

On board the one-year-old purpose-built wooden schooner, class is the name of the game between dives with safety, service and comfort overriding all. Polished teak, silks and classic Indonesian “Phinisi” style pairs with modern luxuries (24-hour power and hot water, air conditioning, soundproofing, spacious cabins, large en-suite bathrooms) and a full dive center with a dry room for camera and other humidity sensitive equipment. Rates include five daily meals featuring Indonesian, European and Japanese specialties with frosty beers; wine and liquor extra. With a maximum of just 16 passengers, it promises to be at once intimate, spacious, and exceptional.

Landlubbers will also enjoy six nights spread on either side of the sail in Seminyak, the thriving queer epicenter of Bali, with ample time to explore the lush rice paddies, volcanoes and tropical beaches of this vibrant Hindu community. Trip extensions encouraged. Not PADI certified? Fly in early and take advantage of their 2-3 day courses starting at $365.
