Earlier this week, Turkish Airlines announced that LA Lakers' basketball legend Kobe Bryant will be the airline’s global brand ambassador for the next two years. The airline already offers the fourth biggest network in Europe and wants to build awareness of the brand in the U.S. For the past few years, Turkish Airlines has been expanding its U.S. presence, with flights to Istanbul from New York, Chicago, and Washington, D.C. Next year the airline will launch its first nonstop flight from the west coast. Beginning March 3, 2011, they will fly from LAX airport to Atatürk Airport in Istanbul four times a week.
