"Eco" and "luxury" are terms often incongruous with each other. Going green has traditionally meant skimping on comfort, and enjoying plush amenities has meant turning a cold shoulder to the environment.

It is, however, 2010 and the two avenues of thinking are starting to come together, with exquisite results.

These days the words 'eco' and 'luxury' go together as easily as 'The Fairmont' and 'Lexus Hybrid'. The Grand Dame of luxury resorts, the Fairmont San Francisco has teamed with Lexus to create their "Eco Is the New Chic" package. The deal, good throughout 2010, includes a night in the super suite which is in the hotels famed Tower and is decorated to the hilt with organic and sustainable materials, including a stunning ottoman crafted from recycled leather car seats. A "green guide to San Francisco" as well as a podcast of recommended activities will help visitors discover the best of Northern California.

Guests will sleep, eat and drink sustainably amidst the stunning San Francisco skyline with sweeping views of the bay, the Golden Gate Bridge, Alcatraz, and Chinatown. You will also get complimentary access to the hotels own Lexus LS 600HL hybrid during your stay and a bottle of organic, local wine waiting in your room.

Package is available through out the year, subject to availability. 866/540-4491. fairmont.com/sanfrancisco
