In another alarming incident of reptile (and other creepy crawler) smuggling aboard planes, a notorious Malaysian animal trafficker, Anson Wong, was arrested when authorities found 95 boa constrictors writhing in his luggage in the Kuala Lumpur airport late last month. Wong was taking the snakes to Jakarta, Indonesia, when his bag burst on an airport conveyor belt.

Anson Wong is a known animal smuggler, called the “Lizard King” for his frequent transport of endangered reptile species. He has already served jail time for running an animal trafficking ring in the United States. This time around, Wong received six months in jail in Malaysia and a $50,000 fine. All the snakes are alive and in the care of wildlife officials.
