England has the town of Bath. Germany has Baden-Baden. And in France it’s Vichy. What is Spa Town, USA?

Kohler, Wisconsin.

That’s if you’re being literal about the term salus per aquam, which means health through water and gives us the origins of the word “spa.”

Kohler, of course, is the maker of faucets, sinks, and tubs. Some are for everyday use, but many are works of art (the overflowing Sok tub), feats of engineering (a shower that saves your preferences and uses an iPod like dial), and cost more than a Lexus.

For its 10th anniversary, the Kohler Waters Spa (yes, located in Wisconsin and two-and-a-half hours north of Chicago) created two new spa treatment rooms to showcase the latest in the company’s water technologies, which for the time being are not available at other spas.

The Acoustic Room is the stage for the Fountainhead VibrAcoustic bath, which emits sound vibrations from underwater music. And forget a faucet: The tub fills from the ceiling with Laminar Flow, a splash-free stream that doubles as gorgeous water feature.

The Harmony Room features Kohler’s new take on the Vichy shower (shown above), which uses a half dozen WaterTiles (instead of showerheads) over the length of a massage table to provide a constant hydromassage of warm water.

New treatments like the Lavender Rain, a bath, body scrub, and massage, are built around these new water features and run an affordable $120 for 50 minutes. Ready to dip in a toe?
