In a fun twist on the usual sweepstakes rigmarole, Southwest Airlines and the California Travel and Tourism Commission teamed up to create California – The Game, a virtual board game that awards players with extra sweepstakes entries before selecting the final winners. Up for grabs are six more pairs of round-trip airline tickets (one pair is doled out weekly); one five-night Northern California Wine, Dine, and Culture vacation package to San Francisco and Napa; and one five-night Southern California Ultimate Family Getaway package to Disneyland and San Diego. The game itself works like a mix of the Oregon Trail and The Game of Life, as players meander north along the coast, answer Golden State trivia questions to score points, and try to reach San Francisco without getting tossed into Alcatraz.  Play through June 27 to earn up to eight entries, the maximum allowed. Quick tip: The game route is the same each time, so dedicated players can rack up entries pretty quickly.
