The Independence of the Seas sets sail on November 23 from Southampton, England approximentally a 90 minutes drive from London. The ship makes its way along the English Channel to two ports in France, first docking in Le Havre followed by Cherbourg. From there, it spends a day at sea before reaching Vigo, known as the Green Spain for its lush landscape. After that is a visit to Madeira, where passengers can pick up a souvenir of the area’s famous embroidery, or explore the town of Monte for some unbelievably scenic views. From here on out, the Independence of the Seas spends the next six days crossing the Atlantic before arriving in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
