The late summer months of August and September are an ideal time to visit Northern Europe. Temperatures are still warm and airlines launch abundant autumn fare sales, giving travelers a golden opportunity to snag reduced rates. To top it off, the European cruise season is winding down and cruise lines are making last-ditch efforts to fill cabins on the remaining ships. This 5-night sailing aboard Royal Caribbean’s Vision of the Seas has six sailing dates available to choose from, with prices starting from as little as $471.

After embarking from Copenhagen, Denmark, the ship spends a day at sea allowing passengers a chance to get a feel for their new surroundings. The Vision of the Seas offers numerous lounges and bars, a library, spa and fitness center, and theater. For parents with kids in tow, the little ones can head to the video arcade or solarium pool, while teens even have their own private “chill out” area. The first stop on this voyage is Bergen, Norway, home to a picturesque medieval-looking harbor and numerous museums. Before returning to Copenhagen, the ship calls on the breathtaking port in Geiranger-Hellesylt. Tucked away in the snow-capped mountains, this Norwegian city offers cruisers something that many cruise ports lack – a true outdoor experience. Take a drive up the winding roads for incredible views of the Geiranger fjord. Interior prices for this voyage start at $471, with oceanview staterooms available from $699.
